We ran outside in the ocean from St. Augustine to Amelia Island, where we came back in for local scenery. Since there wasn’t much to see from the water, we went back out at St. Mary’s River entrance, which divides Florida and Georgia, and came in at St. Simons, GA, to Golden Isle Marina. It was one of those marinas that was not easy to get into; we kept the dockmaster on the VHF to lead us in. While in the ICW we also got held up at this swing bridge. We had heard that this one could be difficult; they do not have VHF access and they seem to operate on their own schedule. There were three boats lined up and waiting by the time it opened.
